Many people, including many Yang Style practitioners, mistakenly think that Yang Lu Chan invented Yang Style Taijiquan as he is regarded as the first patriarch of this style. What Yang Lu Chan practices and used to defeat all challengers to earn the title Yang the Undefeated was Chen Style Taijiquan. Yang Style Taijiquan was invented by his grandson, Yang Deng Fu.
This set, Flowing Water Floating Clouds, is representative of Chen Style Taijiquan, which was closed kept as top secret in the past. Yang Lu Chan had to work as a servant in the Chen Village to "steal" the art. Today, Chen Style Taijiquan is widely practiced, especially in China, but usually without internal force and combat application, which are the two hallmarks of Chen Style Taijiquan.
It is almost ridiculous that members of Shaolin Wahnam have an opportunity to learn this style, including its internal force and combat application is a three-day regional course.
