DEFLECTING, NOT BLOCKING, A BOXER'S JABS
First we learn how to deflect against a Boxer's jabs. Grandmaster Wong shows the subtleties of the defend movement. He emphasizes that the technique is to deflect, and not to block. Executed skillfully, you need only minimum force to deflect even a powerful jab. If the jab is close, shift your body backward, without moving your legs, to avoid its reach.
