STANCE TRAINING TO DEVELOP INTERNAL FORCE AND ENHANCE DAILY LIVING
Stance training is very important in all kungfu, including Taijiquan. It develops internal force for which Taijiquan is famous, and enhance daily living.
The important stances in Taijiquan are the Three-Circle Stance, the Bow-Arrow Stance and the Four-Six Stance.
You should practice these stances daily for at least three months. Make sure that your posture is correct and you are totally relaxed. Stance training is a relaxation exercise, not an endurance test. You can start at whatever time you can comfortably remain at your stances, like just about three minutes, then gradually increase to fifteen minutes or more.
