Yes, it is sufficient for you father to take just the Intensive Chi Kung Course. He has to practice what he has learnt at home. In fact he does not have to practice everything that he has learnt. If he can practice just a part of what he has learnt, actually the first part, and be able to generate an energy flow, he would have good health, vitality and longevity.
This is because the course provides material from beginners' level through intermediate level to masters' level. What your father needs most is found at the beginners' level, which will be taught at the beginning of the course, and will be repeated throughout the course so that course participants can know it very well.

Both Tai Chi Chuan as an internal energy art and Tai Chi Chuan as an external dance-like exercise use the same Tai Chi Chuan forms. The crucial difference is that practitioners of an internal energy art use the Tai Chi Chuan forms to work on energy, whereas practitioners of an external dance-like exercise use the same forms to work on their physical body, like joints and muscles.

It is alarming that after many years of training many martial artists today are unaware they have failed to achieve the two main aims of being healthy and able to defend themselves (otherwise they would not be routinely hit during sparring). Worse, they have actually become more unhealthy than before they started their martial art training, and they continue to subject themselves to be hit during sparring for no good reasons.

April 2010 (Part 1)
If you do not have the necessary background knowledge, you will not understand what actually is described even when you know all the dictionary meanings of the words in the description. For example, in the famous Taijiquan Treatise, the great master Wang Zong Yue said that "From Wuji is born Taiji." Even when you know that "Wuji" means the Great Void, and Taiji the Cosmos, you would not really understand what is meant by "From the Great Void is born the Cosmos."

All chi kung exercises have two dimension, namely circulating and building, though the emphasis on one or the other dimension is different in different exercises. In the Small Universe, the emphasis is circulating, but the building dimension is also present. What you experienced was this building dimension where chi is built at your dan tian to increase your energy volume.

If a student does not agree with our training methods, says our fees are high, or does not respect his seniors, we ask him to leave. Similarly, if an outsider comes into our Virtual Kwoon and tells us that internal force is bullshit, we should make our teaching available free for any Tom, Dick and Harry, or students can treat their teachers like buddies, we throw him out.
